Marcos to Summon Chinese Envoy Over 'Easily Win' Remark

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on October 16, 2026 that he would summon Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Jing Quan over the envoy's remark that China could "easily win" a military conflict with the Philippines if it chose to use force, calling the statement a threat and "not a very diplomatic statement to be made."
